Teaching Guitar - Service

(1) I decided to help my friend learn guitar as I was taught how to play from a teacher a few years back, which motivated me to help him learn as well as it quickly became a passion of mine. I also wanted to develop my existing skill of playing guitar. (2) Teaching him was a challenge as it was hard to figure out which technique would make it easier for him to learn compared to the techniques I was taught when I went to my first classes. It was important for me to plan my lessons with him because even though playing the chords came natural to me, she was not as comfortable with the way to hold a guitar and the placing of his fingers on the strings so it would not hurt his finger tips. I taught him simple, easy chords then got him to select songs and I would plan how to easily teach him the chords. (3) I was committed to teaching him as it meant I was helping him achieve something he wanted to do and I wanted to provide him with as much help as he needed. (4) Surprisingly, I still remembered most of the chords that I was taught by my guitar teacher from years ago which increased my awareness of my own strength as I never thought I would be capable of teaching someone how to play guitar. Also when teaching my friend how to play the songs he selected, I had to learn some chords as well or practice some of them so that I could teach them better. While my area of growth would be practicing guitar more so that in the future if I wanted to, I could teach guitar to other people as well or just develop my own skills more.

(LO1)  I'm able to memorize monologues very quickly so it eliminates one of the many hard obstacles of the exam. However, what I need to develop is the range of emotions for each character as there are 3 exams so that I do not end up having the same emotion in each monologue. (LO2) Another challenge was the knowledge section of the exam where we had to choose a practitioner to learn about and be tested on. I chose Constantin Stanislavski as I remembered his acting techniques from researching about him during my Igcses. The lamda examiner questioned me about how Stanislavski turned realism to naturalism withn acting and what were his teachings. (LO3) The perseverance part was the hardest as I would struggle to split my time between homework, school work and revision that I usually do during my free periods that would be re...
