Although I have been studying Spanish for around 8 years and I am taking it for IB as standard level which is my strength, it is quite challenging to read and entire book in Spanish as the vocabulary is much more advanced. Reading the novel 'Del amor y otros demonios' that translates to 'Of love and other demons' by Gabriel Garcia Marquez is a book that was extremely challenging to read. The story line is so developed that it was hard for me to keep track of the events occurring in the book and the emotions of the characters. I read this book on my phone using Amazon Kindle as I could not really find any Spanish books online elsewhere. The new skill I now have is that I have developed my reading skills in Spanish, this is helpful when we read articles in class. In terms of personal growth, I have developed as it has made me aware of the literary structure of other languages. I wanted to stop reading the book so many times, it was dark but also complicated in nature and its understanding. The girl was sent to receive an exorcism which was quite confusing to me and greatly challenged my Spanish vocabulary in order to keep up with the events within the novel. However, I committed myself to finishing this novel as I felt it would be a great accomplishment for me to read a novel in a language that I'm not fluent in and I wanted to take on the challenge of how much I could understand about the novel. Shockingly, I understood the concept, theme and story line of the book despite not knowing all the words within the novel itself. It was pleasant to see that I could guess the meaning of certain words based on the context of the sentence.

(LO1) I'm able to memorize monologues very quickly so it eliminates one of the many hard obstacles of the exam. However, what I need to develop is the range of emotions for each character as there are 3 exams so that I do not end up having the same emotion in each monologue. (LO2) Another challenge was the knowledge section of the exam where we had to choose a practitioner to learn about and be tested on. I chose Constantin Stanislavski as I remembered his acting techniques from researching about him during my Igcses. The lamda examiner questioned me about how Stanislavski turned realism to naturalism withn acting and what were his teachings. (LO3) The perseverance part was the hardest as I would struggle to split my time between homework, school work and revision that I usually do during my free periods that would be re...
