 Performance In School Production 

       Since last year I stopped doing theater and I thought I’d never get the opportunity to do so again. I’ve never been a person to put myself out there so I would avoid auditioning for school productions in fear of not getting the role. This year I decided why not just try to audition? I used CAS as an excuse to put myself out there but in the end I did get the role and I was pleasantly surprised! I learnt to work with my friend as it's a 2 person scene within the play. I learned to memorize both my lines and his so that we could help each other if one of us forgets our line. I’ll be performing in front of almost 50 people for 3 nights, it’s terrifying yet also exciting as I’ve never been the one on stage more of just the one watching.

It’s helped me develop my acting skills as before I would be just acting in front of a class of 4-5 people or just in front of a camera for a coursework. Now I have to actually perform in front of people and the set is near the audience which will be emotionally challenging. As I'll have to not feel self-conscious, to focus more on the play itself. Acting itself has helped me develop my skills in the tone of voice I use when saying certain words and the ability to express my feelings more. Acting allows me to take on a character that may be close to my personality but at times are the complete opposite of me, how i act and everything but that enables me to explore different characteristics and personalities other people have.
