Badminton - Activity

Playing Badminton Weekly - Activity
I started taking up Badminton as a new sport that I have never really played before, it has now become a new skill I've learned. I tried to play last year but I never really put much effort into trying to commit to playing it. CAS has pushed me in a positive way to try and continue this activity for longer than just one hour on one day but rather to do it every week. Through continuation of this experience, it has changed my mind on trying out different physical activities I've never done before. I have discovered that I very much enjoy Badminton, it allows me to have fun and enjoying it while also interacting with the people who are in my school but I never really communicate with.

The reason I probably never took this sport seriously is due to being bad at it but it seems that practicing it more often has allowed me to get better in it, creating a new skill for me. I play badminton not only in school but also with my family (dad and older sister) during 2 weekends of the month. It has helped us become more closer and provided us with an activity to do as a family. Therefore, spending quality time together, it has generally made my life happier. Doing activities with your family helps resolve the familial issue around the world where families spend insufficient time with each other, lacking the emotional connection between them which allows them to communicate easier, helping the global issue families often face. This would help teenagers our age when we are stressed with school and feel as though we can't talk to our parents about it, would improve our mental health. Nowadays, I look forward to days where I get to play badminton because it helps me relax and clear my mind from my work for an hour or two each week. This experience overall, has impacted my everyday life in a positive way, through continuously challenging me every single week to become better and progress my new profound skill.

I have done a few Lamda exams over the years and took drama as an Igcse subject so this year I decided to do the last level exam which was Grade 8 the gold medal. (LO1)  I'm able to memorize monologues very quickly so it eliminates one of the many hard obstacles of the exam. However, what I need to develop is the range of emotions for each character as there are 3 exams so that I do not end up having the same emotion in each monologue. (LO2) Another challenge was the knowledge section of the exam where we had to choose a practitioner to learn about and be tested on. I chose Constantin Stanislavski as I remembered his acting techniques from researching about him during my Igcses. The lamda examiner questioned me about how Stanislavski turned realism to naturalism withn acting and what were his teachings. (LO3) The perseverance part was the hardest as I would struggle to split my time between homework, school work and revision that I usually do during my free periods that would be re...
