Diwali Dance (2017) - Creativity & Activity

Indian Cultural Dance For Diwali Festival
Firstly, dancing has never been my forte every since I was a little kid, it has always made me feel conscious as I was always bad, would either dance too slow, not be able to remember the moves or just couldn't do some dance moves other people could do. The challenges I faced while practicing this dance with my friends are that, I felt pressured in a way to be able to do it as nicely as everyone else and not mess it up. The benefits are that now I am more open to try different activities related to dance, such as Latin dance. This activity showed me the variety of skills I could have if I put myself out there more and tried to participate in different types of activities. The commitment I put in during rehearsals, I have definitely improved and it's a new skill I have gained.
I have been able to work alongside, my friends, classmates and other students in school and have found that they are very supportive and help me when I don't understand or can't do a certain dance move, it has made me feel less nervous about dancing. I have now learnt how to work as part of a team as I've had issues with this before and from now on will try to do more teamwork.
This Indian dance itself, has shown me the cultural aspects of Indian music as we had to learn the dance moves they usually do and understand the lyrics of the song. Me and my friends will be performing this dance during the Diwali festival our school are celebrating and it's very nerve wrecking to me but this is an opportunity for me to experience a different style of dancing and to perform a dance in front of people. The exploration of the Indian culture was very inspiring, all around the world people from different nationalities need to be more open-minded to participate in activities that are rooted from a different culture so we can all accept each others interesting cultural backgrounds.

LAMDA Gold Medal Exam - Creativity

I have done a few Lamda exams over the years and took drama as an Igcse subject so this year I decided to do the last level exam which was Grade 8 the gold medal. (LO1)  I'm able to memorize monologues very quickly so it eliminates one of the many hard obstacles of the exam. However, what I need to develop is the range of emotions for each character as there are 3 exams so that I do not end up having the same emotion in each monologue. (LO2) Another challenge was the knowledge section of the exam where we had to choose a practitioner to learn about and be tested on. I chose Constantin Stanislavski as I remembered his acting techniques from researching about him during my Igcses. The lamda examiner questioned me about how Stanislavski turned realism to naturalism withn acting and what were his teachings. (LO3) The perseverance part was the hardest as I would struggle to split my time between homework, school work and revision that I usually do during my free periods that would be re...
