Recycling + Beach Clean Up - Service

Cleaning up garbage & Recycling

Today after school I went to pick up garbage from the large beach near my house with my friend. I have personally really enjoyed it and would like to go back when I have free time on the weekends. When I was younger I would through garbage on the floor like little plastic bags that they put around straws or water bottle caps without thinking of the consequence it may have on the environment and how it could increase global warming as I am regularly polluting the environment, not recycling my garbage. From now on at my house I’m gonna re-use the plastic water bottles I buy, re-washing them and filling water into them. Also by keeping the plastic bags you get from the supermarket and re-use them for other purposes such as putting my food containers in them to bring to school. I’ve always looked at the garbage on the beach but never once picked them up and put them in the recycling bins as I never thoroughly thought about the harm it causes to the environment and that it wouldn’t affect my life. Over time, I started realizing by reading information online that from me personally not doing anything about the garbage I see laying around, I’m contributing to the world pollution. The garbage on the beach can be dragged by the waves into the sea and potentially kill or harm the sea creatures such as fishes. This is a global issue that many young adults such as myself ignore and never take an interest in but I think we should start, it’s never too late to make a little change in the world. The more people contribute little by little to the cause of stopping pollution it could eventually decrease the issue of global warming that our world is facing more and more everyday. I will try to involve more of my friends in cleaning up the beach near where we all live as we could help keep the beach clean, recycle the plastic we find lying on the beach that never breaks down. If we do it regularly it will over time help with this global issue. Through collaborating with my friend to clean this beach today, I have learnt that even stopping pollution and recycling plastic can be fun and emotionally rewarding as it makes me feel better as a person.

LAMDA Gold Medal Exam - Creativity

I have done a few Lamda exams over the years and took drama as an Igcse subject so this year I decided to do the last level exam which was Grade 8 the gold medal. (LO1)  I'm able to memorize monologues very quickly so it eliminates one of the many hard obstacles of the exam. However, what I need to develop is the range of emotions for each character as there are 3 exams so that I do not end up having the same emotion in each monologue. (LO2) Another challenge was the knowledge section of the exam where we had to choose a practitioner to learn about and be tested on. I chose Constantin Stanislavski as I remembered his acting techniques from researching about him during my Igcses. The lamda examiner questioned me about how Stanislavski turned realism to naturalism withn acting and what were his teachings. (LO3) The perseverance part was the hardest as I would struggle to split my time between homework, school work and revision that I usually do during my free periods that would be re...
